On the road again, as it should be. This morning, Willie Nelson announced an extensive list of 2026 shows as part of this year’s edition of his Outlaw Music Festival Tour, which is entering its second decade on the road. Willie will of course headline the tour, and he will have rotating openers join him at every stop, of course including his family band and son Lukas Nelson, in addition to The Avett Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Wilco, Lukas Nelson, Stephen Wilson Jr., Margo Price, Sierra Hull, Robert Randolph, Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble, and Lily Meola. Willie is a tried and true road warrior, he’s been doing it for decades now, and playing shows for fans all over the world is what he loves to do, so he’s excited to get out there and do it again this summer, even if there aren’t quite as many shows on the calendar (which is hard to believe because it still seems like a lot to me): “Being on the road and playing for the fans is what I love to do. We don’t get to do as many shows as we used to, so every night out there means a little more. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone and making it a special time.” Willie is right around the corner from his birthday on April 29th, when he’ll turn 93-years-old, and he continues to put out music, and tour, like he did when he was first getting started just about. It’s beyond impressive, there’s really no other way to put it though that doesn’t even feel like a strong enough phrase, and this is obviously a bucket list concert, especially if you’ve never gotten to see the red headed stranger live in concert before. Obviously, he’s not getting any younger, and you should take the chance to see the living legend while you can… it’s a magical experience, I can tell you firsthand. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, March 27th. In addition to this run of shows, Willie announced his 79th solo studio album Dream Chaser last week, which is set for release on May 29th.
