Singer At Kid Rock’s Nashville Bar Shares An Emotional Dance With A Mother Whose Son Is Being Deployed

God bless everybody who signs up to serve our great country. Obviously with everything going in Iran right now, we’re praying for all of our service members who are in harm’s way. But there are also plenty of military parents out there right now who are terrified that their son or daughter could soon be sent to join the fight. The families of those who serve make incredible sacrifices themselves, and while I don’t have kids myself yet, I couldn’t imagine how I would feel knowing my son or daughter was being deployed to a war zone and not knowing whether or not I would get to see them again. And the band at Kid Rock’s downtown Nashville bar recently shared an emotional moment with the mom of one of our heroes. Video shared by the Honky Tonk School, which is the organization that books bands for bars like Kid Rock’s and Tootsies, shows Nashville singer Scott Collier serenading a mother whose son is getting deployed with Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA.” Collier even left the stage to dance with the teary-eyed mother while performing the patriotic hit, a moment that left her wiping her eyes after the song. @honkytonkschool Scott Collier on the dance floor singing with mother who’s son getting deployed with tears on her eyes. You might not expect to see such an emotional moment at Kid Rock’s bar, which has a reputation for being one of the most rowdy party spots on Broadway. But not long ago, we saw another heartwarming moment unfold among the partying – and this one was thanks to Kid Rock himself. Of course everybody has strong feelings about the rocker, whose real name is Bob Ritchie. From all accounts from people who know and have met him, he’s a super nice dude who cares about people. But he’s also a polarizing public figure thanks to his political opinions and his willingness to say whatever he wants without worrying about what others think of him or what he has to say. He’s also one of the few artists who actually hangs out at his own bar in Nashville on a pretty regular basis, mingling with fans and even hopping on stage to sing one or two every once in a while. It was the scene from one of his recent visits, though, that gives you a better look at what kind of person Kid Rock is when the cameras are off. (Or at least when he thinks they’re off…) ZPierre509 is a streamer who frequently goes live from Broadway in downtown Nashville, as well as from Kid Rock’s bar. (His streams are some pretty good entertainment if you want to watch the insanity of Broadway from the comfort of your home). And recently, he happened to catch a touching interaction between the owner of the bar and one of his fans. The fan was Spencer Cotie, a Paralympic athlete from Australia who was born with cerebral palsy and is unable to walk or speak, and communicates using an iPad. Well apparently Kid Rock spotted Spence in his wheelchair on the main floor of the bar so he went down to visit with him, putting his arm around the guy and chatting with him as the band played. And apparently Spencer is a pretty big fan of Kid Rock and Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar, because he wrote on his screen: “I grew up listening to you and Hagar.” @zpierre509 Kid Rock spent time with fan on the dance floor, fan wrote “ I grew up listening to you and Hagar” . Kid Rock and Spencer was having fun filled with laughter, later Kid Rock invited fan in the vip section on his bar. @hippiesandcowboysband @johnstonecountry Honky Tonk School Open mic auditions every Saturday at Tootsie’s 2pm-6pm . Btw way the man name is Spencer from Australia and he is well loved by the bands. See full video on YouTube zpierre509. Honky Tonk School Open mic auditions every Saturday at Tootsie’s 2pm-6pm .
