Kellogg’s Wants to Make Breakfast Fun Again and We’re Ready For It
If you’ve ever gotten up super early on a Saturday morning so you had the closest spot to the TV for cartoons, then this news is right up your alley. We all remember the good old days when kids’ programming was relegated to a few hours on the weekends. Kids across America plopped down on the couch with a giant bowl of cereal and relaxed. Today’s kids are soft. They’ll never understand, having a few minutes to run to the bathroom during commercial breaks. Or the agony of missing their favorite show and having to wait for reruns during the summer. They’ll never understand the magic of being the first one to open a Kellogg’s cereal box and get the toy. Actually, that piece of prime nostalgia is making a comeback.

Kellogg’s Plans to Put Toys Back in Cereal Boxes
Beginning on April 26, 2026, specially marked boxes of Kellogg’s cereal will include toys. The promotion ties in with the upcoming Toy Story 5 release.
“At Kellogg’s, there’s a real sense of childhood nostalgia tied to the moments families remember most – and breakfast is a big part of that,” Laura Newman, VP Brand Marketing at WK Kellogg Co said in a news release. “Bringing toys back inside the box reintroduces that sense of discovery through a simple, screen-free moment of play that parents can now share with their own kids. Collaborating with Toy Story 5, which explores the role of toys in a tech-driven world, made this moment even more meaningful.”
Kellogg’s cereal boxes and Toy Story 5 toys are a perfect marriage.
“At the heart of Toy Story 5 is the idea that toys inspire creativity, friendship and play,” Lylle Breier, Executive Vice President, Partnerships, Promotions, Synergy & Events, The Walt Disney Studios, shared. “We are delighted to collaborate with Kellogg’s on their Toys Back in the Box campaign that gives families a fun way to explore the playful world of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the gang.”
This is on our grocery list for the week. Now we just have to be sure we open the box before our kids.
