Post Malone Cancels First Month Of Upcoming Stadium Tour
Gonna have to wait a little longer.
Post Malone announced this evening that’s was pushing back the start of his Big Ass Stadium Tour, canceling the first month of shows including opening night in El Paso as well as stops at McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas; Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Protective Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama; Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida; and Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi.
In a statement posted to his Instagram, Posty (whose real name is Austin Post) said that he would be pushing back the start of the tour to focus on finishing up his upcoming double album:
“Looking at the upcoming schedule after stagecoach, I came to the realization that what we were trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up.
Truth is, I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts. We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.
That being said, I’m so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y’all.
That THAT being said, we been making some badass shit for this double album… and I can’t wait to perform for y’all again.”
The tour is now set to kick off on June 9 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Post headlined the final night of Stagecoach in Indio, California this past weekend, and still has a couple of festival dates on his schedule before the tour kicks off, including appearances at Gulf Coast Jam in Panama City Beach, Florida on May 31 and Carolina Country Music Festival in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on June 7.
Over the past month or so, he’s also been teasing his upcoming double album, The Eternal Buzz, including a post last month revealing that the album would feature a whopping 40 songs.

Sounds like he’s got plenty to keep him busy until the tour officially does kick off.
Post and Jelly Roll teamed up for the first round of the Big Ass Stadium Tour last year, and it was a massive success. But over the past few weeks, there’s been a lot of talk about ticket sales for this year’s tour, citing the seemingly large number of tickets available for some of the shows. (I mean, have you seen the economy and gas prices lately? It’s no wonder people can’t afford to go to concerts).
Of course there’s no confirmation that the cancellations had anything to do with low ticket sales, so that would just be speculation at this point.
But on the bright side, it sounds like we might have some new music from Posty by the time he finally does get back out on the road for his stadium tour.
