White House Doctor Announces Results Of Trump’s Annual Physical
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump is in “excellent health” and is “fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in Chief,” the president’s physician shared on Friday evening.
“President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function,” wrote Captain Sean Barbabella, the physician to the president. “His demanding daily schedule, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, continues to support his overall well-being.”
“Cognitive and physical performance are excellent,” the physician added of Trump. “He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
Trump’s annual medical examination took place at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on May 26. His physician reported that the president, who is 79 years old, had authorized the public release of the findings.
According to the diagnostic summary, Trump’s vision is within normal limits. His head, ears, nose, and throat all appear normal, minus “scarring of the right ear consistent with prior gunshot injury” he sustained during the first assassination attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania. His physician found that his lungs and chest are normal, and AI-enhanced electrocardiogram analysis estimated that his cardiac age is 14 years younger than his current age.
His cardiac examination “revealed a regular rate and rhythm with normal heart sounds,” and, overall, his cardiac function is “normal, and circulation to the extremities remains intact.”
Trump still has slight lower leg swelling but it has slightly improved since last year, Barbabella wrote.
His neurological examination “demonstrated normal mental status, intact cranial nerves, normal motor strength, sensation, reflexes, gait, and balance,” and his cognitive function was “within normal limits with a score of 30 out of 30.”
The president has had noticeable bruising on his hands for the past several years, which his physician noted in the report.
“Examination of the dorsal hands revealed ecchymosis (bruising), consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention,” Barbabella wrote. “This represents a common and benign effect of aspirin therapy.”
And he noted that on the dermatology front: “No suspicious lesions or concerning growths identified.”
Trump most recently underwent a physical examination in October 2025, when Barbabella said that the president “remains in exceptional health” and was showing “strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological and physical performance.” At the time, Trump received a yearly flu shot and a COVID booster vaccine.
