OMISSION: Nets SILENT on Al Qaeda-Adjacent Dem Candidate Primary Win
Once again, the Elitist Media are omitting coverage of inconvenient Democrat candidates ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. After getting shamed into finally covering the many scandals of Graham Platner, the media are now hiding the terror-adjacent likely next congressman from New Jersey.
Here’s how Fox reported on Dr. Adam Hamawy’s primary win and ties to the notorious Blind Sheikh:
The evening news somehow forgot to cover another inconvenient Dem: Blind Sheik-adjacent Adam Hamawy. Here's how Fox covered his primary win and background:

AISHAH HASNIE: But first, Senior Correspondent Eric Shawn, who covered the Blind Sheikh and his attacks that all began in 1990. Hi, Eric.
ERIC SHAWN: Hi, Aishah. Well, he could be the next Democratic Member of Congress from New Jersey. But you know his links to one of the country's most notorious radical islamic terror leaders? Well, that continues to shadow his bid. Dr. Adam Hamawy, a plastic surgeon and US Army veteran, won the Democratic primary in the Garden State’s 12th District last night, and he has admitted that in the 1990s he did associate with the infamous Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel Rahman, who was convicted of terrorism and seditious conspiracy in 1996.
He led the jihadi terror cell of Islamic militants who in 1990 assassinated extremist rabbi Meir Kahane in New York City hotel, then bombed the World Trade Center in 1993 that killed six people, and plotted to blow up New York City landmarks in 1995. Rahman was sentenced to life in prison. He died behind bars. Hamawy testified at the Blind Sheikh’s trial, he was a defense witness. But during the campaign for Congress he denied any wrongdoing.
ADAM HAMAWY: He wasn't, you know, preaching, like, death and destruction all the time. He had certain views that he spoke in certain forums. But that's not what he did every single day.
SHAWN: Hamawy’s relationship with Rahman also reportedly includes a 1991 road trip together, and Hamawy serving as the Sheikh’s translator during a news conference where Rahman denied having any role in the Trade Center bombing. Hamawy’s campaign said the candidate did not have any, quote: “meaningful relationship with Rahman”, had no contact with him after his arrest, and that he does condemn the Sheikh’s violent rhetoric.
Illinois Democratic Senator Tammy Duckworth credits Dr. Hamawy with saving her life. When she was a helicopter pilot, her helicopter was shot down in Iraq. She has endorsed him. Hamawy, by the way, is a favorite to win in the heavily Democratic district at the general election in November. Aishah.
HASNIE: Okay. Thanks for getting us started. Eric Shawn live for us. Eric, thank you.
The longtime ties to The Blind Sheikh aren’t the only concerning associations that come up when discussing Dr. Hamawy. Per Jewish Insider:
But just one year before Hamawy took the witness stand to describe his travels with Abdel-Rahman, the now-Congressional candidate made a different journey with another party entangled in terrorist conspiracies: to Bosnia, with a group subsequently shut down for providing “logistical support” to Al-Qaida.
In a 1996 interview with the Newark Star-Ledger, according to a copy Jewish Insider recovered through an archive of print publications, Hamawy described volunteering in Bosnia during the summer of 1994 with a Chicago-based nonprofit called the “Benevolence International Foundation.”
“I worked in Sarajevo for 10 days and then the rest in Zenica, a large regional center in central Bosnia,” Hamawy, who had just graduated from medical school, told the paper about the five weeks he spent with the organization. “We went out to hospitals around the area and in the mountains to check what supplies they needed and we tried to deliver them.”
The report goes on to note that a 2003 joint US-Bosnia raid uncovered that the foundation was a front for Al-Qaeda, providing substantial financial and “other” support.
These substantial terror ties merit scrutiny, especially from an Elitist Media evening news that treats anything coming out of the New York metropolitan area as national news. Local weather and traffic emergencies have drawn more coverage on the national evening news than does the prospect of someone with potential terror ties representing a state in Congress that lost over 700 people on 9/11.
The Elitist Media evening news had zero seconds for Hamawy. What got covered instead? Glad you asked. CBS was tapped out after giving Scott Pelley a five-plus minute sendoff. ABC mentioned New Jersey Congressman Tom Kean, Jr., but had no time for Hamawy in their primary election recap. NBC focused on Randy Feenstra losing his Iowa gubernatorial primary.
Here again, the omissions only cut one way. One does not imagine a Republican candidate with equally troubling ties drawing a free pass from the Elitist Media. Yet again, a reminder that were it not for double standards, there would be none at all.
