Morgan Wallen Responds To Fans Who Are Outraged His Pittsburgh Concert Was Canceled Prematurely

Did Morgan Wallen and his team call off his Pittsburgh concert a little too early? There’s nothing worse than a day-of cancellation. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been to a handful of concerts and sporting events that have been called off due to weather. There’s no other way to put it… it sucks to have a date circled on the calendar for months, and then have Mother Nature get in the way of it. Yesterday, country music fans had flocked to Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to see Morgan Wallen on his Still The Problem Tour (along with Zach John King, Gavin Adcock and Ella Langley). But they had the rug pulled out from underneath them when Wallen and his team decided to call off the concert because of forecasted severe weather. Here was the official announcement from the country superstar: “After talking with local officials and my team, there is no choice but to cancel tonight’s show due to severe adverse weather conditions expected throughout the rest of the day and night. Safety for my fans and crew is the highest priority. Refunds available at point of purchase.” What a bummer. And what made the cancellation ever worse? That projected severe weather hit the Pittsburgh area early in the day, and it had cleared out by 4:30 P.M. local time. The concert was set to start at 5:30. Fans were already upset with the cancellation, but once it turned out to be an absolutely beautiful night, they were outraged… and speculated that Wallen might have called off the concert for other reasons: Update on Morgan Wallen Pittsburgh: It’s currently 8:38pm. The concert was cancelled out of “concern for fans due to inclement weather” Pictured below is a photo I just took of where I should be listening to Ella Langley. Did Morgan Wallen cancel on purpose? In his defense, it is perhaps the most beautiful night I’ve ever seen pic.twitter.com/kKJsB4qLaJ — Dustin Nickerson (@DustinNickerson) June 7, 2026 Morgan Wallen Canceled, Pittsburgh did not pic.twitter.com/dQ5eOLONgt — Adio (@Adiofreak) June 6, 2026 Cool to see that fans still showed up… but it’s definitely a shame that they didn’t get to attend the concert they were looking forward to. Those on the internet started spreading completely unfounded rumors that Morgan Wallen had partied too hard the night before his show and was too hungover to perform. Others suggested that his private jet had taken off early in the day, and that he used the projected forecast as an excuse to get out of town early. Once again… completely unfounded. Around 10 o’clock last night, Wallen took to his Instagram story to provide an update and somewhat of an apology for canceling his Pittsburgh show. He also cleared up any sort of confusion, and promised his fans that he would have never selfishly canceled his own show: “This morning, my team walked on my bus and told me that they had been consulting with local officials and that I should cancel my show in Pittsburgh. I said, ‘Why?’ and they said there was going to be strong winds in the area, and I said, ‘Okay.’ So that’s what I did, and that was the information I had in the moment and I trusted my team. I understand that wind and whatever else hasn’t gotten to Pittsburgh yet. I know it has touched some of Pennsylvania, so my heart goes out to all those affected by it. The truth of the matter is, I have a large stage that, in those conditions, could become fatal to a lot of folks around it. So I did the best I could with the information I had in the moment. I’ve seen a lot a nonsense about me that is simply not true. I just wanted to clear the air, and I think my true fans know that that’s not how I operate in general. But I had to say it. Y’all take care.” After checking with officials and my team, we have to cancel tonight’s show due to bad weather. Safety comes first. Refunds are available where you bought tickets.#morganwallen #morethanmyhometown #imtheproblem #denver #morganwallenconcert pic.twitter.com/LPzSSao2hS — Morgan C Wallen (@MorganCWalwn1) June 7, 2026 Very unfortunate for everyone involved… obviously Morgan doesn’t want to cancel a show that makes him tons of money. That’s just one of those situations where, armed with hindsight, it certainly seems like the concert could have gone on as regularly scheduled. But with so much at stake, it’s a really tough call to make operating solely from weather reports. And to be fair, multiple people from the Pittsburgh area confirmed they got some really nasty weather. However, if you take Wallen’s word for it, it sounds like his team and city officials made the call to cancel the tour date… not him.
