Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban does not want his country to copy what he points out as Western Europe's failed migration policy, which he says has led to terrorism, gang wars and other violence. "Leave us alone", is his appeal to the EU, which wants to impose migrants on the country.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Orban also said he does not want "mini-Gaza" in the Hungarian capital Budapest.

Orban's statement comes in the wake of the war between Israel and Hamas and several Western European countries - including Sweden - have seen an explosion of Jew-hatred in the streets and squares, especially from migrants with roots in the Middle East but also from the left.

Orban has previously banned pro-Palestinian protests in Hungary, describing them as "pro-terrorists".

We made a tolerance offer to Brussels: every country can deal with #migration the way they want to, but they cannot force #hungary to copy the failed migration policies of Western Europe. We don't want #terrorism , gang wars and mini Gazas in Budapest!

“I always say we have an offer of tolerance,” Orban said in a video accompanying the post on X. “I say this to the Germans, the French and the people of Brussels: you did it the way you did it, do it the way you do it. We don't want to say whether it's good or bad. We ask one thing, that you tolerate us doing it differently because this is our country, this is our business. Leave us alone".

"Don't try to tell us who can stay in Hungary," he continued. “Don't send here migrants that it was a mistake to let into your country, and you want to get rid of them by sending them here. Do not do it. Tolerate the fact that this is another country, that has not made a mistake, that we have a different position and that we do not want to be like you. We don't want mini-Gaza in the districts of Budapest. And we don't want terrorist attacks, gang wars and all the other things we see in the big cities of Western Europe”.
