Lawsuit Filed Against Jason Aldean & Luke Bryan Over Closure Of Nashville Steakhouse
Taking them to court.
A lawsuit has been filed against Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and former MLB star Adam LaRoche following the closure of their Nashville steakhouse, E3 Chophouse, earlier this year.
The original E3 Chophouse in Steamboat Springs, Colorado was opened by LaRoche and his brothers in 2013, and in 2019 the former MLB player joined with Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan to open their location in Nashville’s Hillsboro Village. At the time, LaRoche praised the country stars for their involvement in bringing the restaurant to Music City:
“Jason & Luke jokingly talked for years about opening an E3 Chophouse in Nashville, and over time those talks became more serious. This is the town they call home, and they’re directly involved in the development and design of the restaurant. It’s come a long way from Luke wearing the E3 hat I made as a novelty many years ago, and we are humbled and excited to bring the restaurant to Music City.”
But the Nashville location abruptly closed their doors back in February following the Valentine’s Day weekend, announcing the move as a “temporary pause” in a post on social media:
“We’re temporarily pausing operations as we evaluate what Nashville needs next.
Our team is assessing market opportunities and exploring potential rebrand and re-concept strategies for the future of this location.”

Well despite calling it a pause, it definitely sounds permanent, because not long after the closure a lawsuit was filed by the landlord, Village 21 Properties, against Outlaws, LLC, the company that entered into the lease agreement for the restaurant. And last Friday, an amended complaint was filed to add Aldean, Bryan and LaRoche as defendants to the lawsuit.
According to the proposed amended complaint, which was obtained and reviewed by Whiskey Riff, back in 2018 Outlaws signed a 10-year lease that was set to run through August 31, 2029 to use the building “solely for the purpose of the operation of an E3 Chophouse.” The complaint alleges that Aldean, Bryan and LaRoche were included in the lease as guarantors.
The lawsuit claims that E3 Chophouse failed to pay rent for January and February 2026, before ceasing operations on February 19 without giving notice to the landlord. A tax lien was also issued against the business on November 3, 2025 for unpaid taxes.
After the steakhouse failed to pay any rent in 2026, the landlord says that they sent notice on March 19 informing the steakhouse that their lease would be terminated and demanding that E3 surrender the property by March 25, but that the steakhouse failed to vacate the building by the deadline.
The landlord filed a lawsuit in March for unlawful detainer, and a court ordered the steakhouse to turn over possession of the building to the landlord. But no representatives of E3 Chophouse attended a follow-up hearing to determine damages owed to the landlord, so a default judgment was entered against the restaurant in the amount of $1,427,135.54.
The steakhouse immediately appealed, and requested that a hearing be set on the appeal in July, but now the landlord is filing an amended complaint seeking to add Aldean, Bryan and LaRoche personally to the lawsuit as guarantors of the debt, claiming that they breached their duty to guaranty the lease and are responsible for the damages alongside Outlaw, LLC.
The court has not yet ruled on whether it will allow the landlord to file their amended complaint, thus adding Aldean, Bryan and LaRoche personally to the lawsuit. But according to the Nashville Business Journal, a representative for Aldean says that “sources familiar with the situation confirm a resolution for this is already being worked towards.”
What a mess.
As of right now, it doesn’t appear that the court has set a date for the final hearing in the case, but we’ll keep you updated on any further developments. The post Lawsuit Filed Against Jason Aldean & Luke Bryan Over Closure Of Nashville Steakhouse first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
