OMISSION: Networks Practically BURY Chicago’s Violent Father's Day Weekend
Another deadly weekend in Chicago goes virtually uncovered by the Elitist Media. One of the worst ongoing biases by omission stories out there just keeps getting worse, displaying gross media indifference as the bodies continue to pile up.
Per Fox News:
The city of Chicago was rocked by a spate of shootings over the weekend, including a drive-by mass shooting on Juneteenth, leaving six dead and 39 injured in the Windy City. The shootings, which took place in a three day period between Friday evening and Sunday, prompted President Donald Trump to call on Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker to take action by requesting federal assistance.
Chicago police reported that two dozen shooting incidents took place over the weekend, with victims who died ranging in age from 18 to 50, according to the Associated Press. On Friday night, two unidentified individuals fired into a crowd in Princeton Park on Chicago’s South Side, resulting in 12 people — eight males and four females — being hospitalized, according to the AP.
A horrific stretch of violence, by any stretch of the imagination. And yet there was virtually no coverage whatsoever of these shootings on broadcast network newscasts. The sole report to air comes via ABC’s Good Morning America First Look, 16 seconds during Monday’s 4AM hour:
WATCH: The Elitist Media buried Chicago's violent Father's Day weekend, with at least 36 shot and 7 dead. The sole mention: 16 seconds on ABC during Monday's 4AM hour. A travesty when you consider that ALGAE drew significantly more coverage.

HANNAH BATTAH: A violent weekend in Chicago. At least 36 people were shot in the city, seven killed. President Trump is renewing his call for military intervention. At least two dozen shootings were reported in the city since Friday night. Shooting incidents in Chicago are slightly up this year.
That’s it. That’s all she wrote across the dial. There were other non-related Chicago items that were deemed to merit broader coverage, such as the inauguration of the Obama Presidential Center on the South Side (except for the stiffed subcontractors, of course). But no time for these shootings.
It should be noted that there were other stories the networks deemed to be worthier of coverage than another weekend crime wave in a city that continues to suffer too many of them. ABC had to air the tourists fleeing a Guatemalan volcano, and the overturned tractor-trailer full of bees. CBS ran an item on the new world record loudmouth, and the stoic dog that watched as another ate a hot dog at a Marlins game. NBC went with speculation over whether Taylor Swift’s wedding will be at Madison Square Garden, and with the aforementioned Guatemalan volcano.
Even the DEI manager that stole the Knicks-themed trashcan and got fired got more coverage than what transpired in Chicago over the weekend. That’s a shame. Unfortunately, it’s also standard practice, and we can’t help but imagine that were this level of violence to happen in a Republican city and state, the media’s interest would be (D)ifferent. There is no worse bias than bias by omission.
