Ina Garten Tiptoes Into New Territory with Podcast
For years, Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa, has taken Food Network fans on incredible food journeys. She’s taught them to cook and live happily in their kitchens. According to the New York Times, Ina Garten struck a seven-figure deal for the upcoming podcast Happy Hour With Ina Garten. The podcast will be a TV-show-style video podcast premiering in September. Ina told the Post she’s very excited about the new adventure, explaining that podcasting “was kind of younger and cooler and it was the thing that was moving fast, and I thought it would be really fun to be in that stream.”

Ina Garten Explained the Podcast with Be Different
Instead of recording at her farm, Ina Garten’s podcast will record at her Manhattan apartment.
“It’s happening in real time, it’s not overedited, so it feels authentic in a way that nothing else does,” she explained. “I’m always in pursuit of that messiness of real life.”
A podcast can be a bit more casual than a scripted, or even unscripted, television show. Podcasts are conversational and attract a different audience than a typical television show. Ina Garten understands that, and she wants to be part of this new and evolving medium. Every episode of a podcast can be completely different from anything before it, which makes it exciting for the host and potential guests.
“It’s all about personalization,” Ina Garten told the Post. “You can watch TV one way, but you can watch and listen to podcasts any way you want, and I think that’s really what’s appealing about it.”
We don’t have the exact date yet, but we expect it will be very popular.
