Whiskey Myers’ “Broken Window Serenade” Enters The Top 20 On Spotify… 15 Years After Its Release

You LOVE to see it. For all intents and purposes, Whiskey Myers has become one of the quintessential bands in today’s new crop of country-rock bands. While the likes of Koe Wetzel, Treaty Oak Revival, The Red Clay Strays, 49 Winchester and more have all experienced a whole lot of success the last few years, the East Texas band somewhat laid the blueprint for them. Beginning all the way back in 2011 with their debut album, Firewater, which features their smash hit, “Broken Window Serenade,” as well as other career staples such as “Ballad Of A Southern Man” and “Virginia.” In the years following, they’ve continually one-upped themselves. Whether it’s their stellar release from last year, Whomp Wach Thunder, 2016’s Mud, which featured the 2x platinum “Stone,” 2019’s self-titled record, which contains the platinum “Bury My Bones” or 2014’s underrated Early Morning Shakes, Whiskey Myers has proven time and time again why they’re one of the best in the business. With all of that being said, however, they’ve still flown under the radar from a broad perspective. Despite all the success in alternative country circles and fans like ours here at Whiskey Riff, Whiskey Myers have constantly been snubbed by the likes of the ACMs, CMAs and even the Grammys. While they have definitely received some love thanks to their strong streaming numbers from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), receiving 10 gold and platinum certifications to date, it still feels like they’ve never truly gotten the love they deserve. One song that has undoubtedly received love, though, is none other than the aforementioned “Broken Window Serenade.” Undoubtedly being their signature song at this point, it’s been nothing but a juggernaut for them. In addition to its monster 451 million streams on Spotify alone and 2x platinum status, it’s also been a continually viral track for the band over the years. On TikTok alone, it’s been used a staggering 4.5 million times, with many of these posts racking up millions of views and likes. Its nearly unprecedented longevity and success on streaming allowed it to debut for the first time on Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart back in April, slotting in at #50. Just three months later, they’ve received another incredible chart placement, this time on Spotify. @whiskeyriff @whiskeymyers #whiskeyriff #brokenwindowseranade ♬ original sound – Whiskey Riff As of today (July 14th), “Broken Window Serenade” has officially entered the Top 20 on Spotify’s all-genre Top 50 – USA chart, a staggering 15 years after its release. And while the fact that it’s charting that high is already impressive enough, when you take a look at the songs it’s above, it becomes even more incredible. Currently, Whiskey Myers is sitting above the likes of Morgan Wallen’s “I Got Better,” Ella Langley and Wallen’s “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” Taylor Swift’s all-genre #1 hit, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” Noah Kahan’s “Orbiter” and Olivia Rodrigo’s “expectations” — all of which have been dropped recently and have been massive hits upon their release. It’s one thing for a song to receive this much love more than a decade and a half later; it’s another thing to see it dominating recent releases from massive artists such as Wallen, Kahan and others. The fact that a song released 15 years ago is still doing this well streaming-wise should not go unnoticed. And as mentioned previously, if there’s a band that deserves it, it’s undoubtedly Whiskey Myers. “Broken Window Serenade” Whiskey Myers 2026 Solo Dates July 26 – Wichita, Kansas – Wave – with Southall July 31 – Council Bluffs, Iowa – Harrah’s Council Bluffs Hotel & Casino with Southall August 14 – Las Vegas, Nevada – PH Live at Planet Hollywood with Southall August 21 – Friant, California – Table Mountain Casino with Southall August 22 – Reno, Nevada – Grand Sierra Resort with Southall August 23 – Jacksonville, Oregon – Britt Festival Pavilion with Southall August 24 – Toppenish, Washington – Legends Casino Hotel September 10 – Little Rock, Arkansas – First Security Amphitheater with The Record Company September 11 – Camdenton, Missouri – Ozarks Amphitheater with The Record CompanyThe post Whiskey Myers’ “Broken Window Serenade” Enters The Top 20 On Spotify… 15 Years After Its Release first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
