Enjoying the single life… at least while she’s on tour. Megan Moroney sat down for a lengthy feature with Cosmopolitan Magazine, where she discussed her ascent to stardom, her Cloud 9 Tour, life on the road, and of course, her dating life, spilling about how she writes very personal songs, like “Who Hurt You?”. View this post on Instagram And she talked about how this is one of her first tours where she hasn’t been dating anyone, and it’s been completely distraction-free, and that has obviously made it a lot easier for her to completely enjoy it without having to worry about anyone else. She admitted that she’s had a lot of “big moments and fun times” ruined by guys she’s been with (her song “Hell of a Show” is about exactly that), and so it’s been a completely different experience this time around… and she’s also doing her first arena tour, playing much bigger venues as well: “It’s really nice that this is one of the first tours I’ve been on where I’m not dating anyone, so I literally have no distractions. And that sounds really silly, but there have been a lot of big moments and fun times that have been ruined by a guy for me. It’s nice to just have a clear head. I’m learning what I like and what I don’t like and what my goals are. It’s been cool to be so disciplined with my routines, to see what I’m capable of when everything is going like it’s supposed to.” But she admits that she loves having “a crush” and the excitement of getting into a new relationship, so she will probably be “on the prowl again” after her tour comes to an end in October. But for now, Megan explains that it’s been “so nice” to have her friends and family out with her and focusing on that, rather than being heartbroken by some guy: “There is something about having a crush that’s exciting, and when my tour wraps up in October, when I’m back from Europe, I’ll maybe be on the prowl again. Yeah, it’ll be fall. It’ll be cuffing season, but right now, it’s been so nice to have my friends and family out [with me] and that not be an aspect of my life that is any sort of problem for me. I wrote ‘Hell of a Show’ about being onstage and having my biggest headlining tour yet and it being ruined. I’m crying right before I go onstage. Life is peaceful. I got a dog in February. That’s what I needed all along—no man, a dog.” She’s having a huge moment in her career, something she’s been working towards for years that is a total dream come true, and she should be doing nothing but enjoying it. She definitely picked the most “peaceful strategy in terms of being single right now, but Megan was spotted partying with USMNT soccer star Christian Pulisic this week in Nashville, and while I’m sure they were probably just having fun as friends, she’ll likely have plenty of suiters when she’s ready to get back to dating again.
