Bailey Zimmerman Cancels Upcoming Concerts To “Focus On Me, My Family, And New Music”
Probably for the best.
Bailey Zimmerman has canceled the European leg of his tour to spend some time working on himself, following what’s been a turbulent summer for the “Rock and a Hard Place” singer.
Zimmerman faced some serious charges back in June related to an incident in New Mexico following a canceled concert. He was charged on June 18 with one felony count of criminal damage to property over $1,000 and one misdemeanor charge of falsely obtaining services, with the arrest warrant alleging that Zimmerman caused $16,000 in damages to his hotel room following a canceled concert at the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque.
The incident transpired back in May when Zimmerman canceled a show at the resort hours before show time on May 27. At the time, Zimmerman said in a statement that he wasn’t feeling well and was not able to give fans the show that they deserved, but after the show was canceled rumors quickly began swirling that there was more to the story. And after charges were filed, an arrest affidavit revealed damage to the hotel room that reportedly totaled over $16,000 and included “damage to a TV, a broken phone, damage to a coffee table, damage to two chairs, and two chairs missing from the room.”
There was also reported to be a hole in a wall as well as damage to other walls and stains on the carpet, and when Sandia staff attempted to contact Zimmerman and his team, they weren’t able to get a response – which led to the criminal case.
The charges against Zimmerman were ultimately dropped after he paid restitution, and he’s since returned to the stage for his summer touring schedule.
But over the weekend he found himself once again in the middle of a firestorm – although this one was out of his control – after his concert at the Delaware State Fair was cut short due to a power outage.
Zimmerman made it through three songs before the power abruptly cut out, and he even tried to power through and perform acoustically until things were resolved. But shortly after the outage, an announcement was made that the concert would be cancelled, much to the displeasure of both the crowd and Bailey.
Afterwards, it was announced that ticket holders would not be receiving refunds for the cancelled concert, which obviously caused a lot of outrage – although like I said, this one’s 100% on organizers and the city and not on Bailey.
Regardless, it’s no doubt been a lot for him to deal with. So Bailey announced today that he would be cancelling his upcoming run of shows in Europe to take some time for himself:
“I wanted to let you all know personally that I unfortunately have to cancel my UK/Europe shows.
This was not an easy decision and it kills me to have to cancel because I know how excited everyone is… but right now I need to take this time to focus on important family matters. Everything is okay, it’s just my family needs my attention and that’s what I’ve gotta do.
I will still be playing my shows in North America in August, but after that I will be taking some more time to focus on me, my family, and new music. Once again I’m so sorry to everybody that has waited so long… I hope y’all can understand that my family has to come first.
Thank you for having my back on this crazy ride we call life.”

Zimmerman was set to play 6 shows in the UK starting on August 17, followed by a run of shows in the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Norway.
In the announcement, he said that he would be playing his US shows in August, but it’s not clear whether that means his shows in the US scheduled for September and later will still go on as scheduled. (He’s currently scheduled to resume his US run on September 17 at the Washington State Fair).
Of course most in the comments seemed to understand the need to take time to take care of himself, but there were also several who were upset that this seems to be an ongoing issue with Bailey at this point:
““Why does Bailey always get unnecessary hate” THIS! Y’all throw Morgan down for canceling a show once in a blue moon, Bailey does it once a week and it’s “hope everything is okay” lol the double standard is hilarious to me”
Whatever he’s dealing with, hopefully he’s able to get it taken care of before heading back out on the road. The post Bailey Zimmerman Cancels Upcoming Concerts To “Focus On Me, My Family, And New Music” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
