Keeping it rolling. After teasing a new tour back in January through his personal website – the only place where the country star shares news from now – Garth Brooks would officially announce his return to touring on his brand new Blame It All On My Roots arena tour. And it’s been a long time coming for the “Friends In Low Places” singer. The 64-year-old country star last brought his music to the masses with his massive stadium tour, which played its final show in the fall of 2022. Garth’s Las Vegas residency – Garth Brooks/Plus ONE – followed after that, but even that wrapped in July of 2024. All that to say, it certainly seems like the perfect time for the aging superstar to return to touring. Last month, he officially announced his new arena tour, and in typical Garth fashion he’s announcing the stops on the tour one at a time. The tour will kick off in Indianapolis, Indiana, with two nights originally being scheduled at Gainbridge Fieldhouse before an additional two shows were announced due to overwhelming demand. (Garth said that there were 400,000 people in the Ticketmaster queue when the original shows went on sale). The second stop was announced late last month when Garth revealed that he would be taking the tour to Denver for two nights at Ball Arena, and just like Indiana, two more shows were quickly added. Well this morning, Garth announced the third stop on the tour will be Chicago, with two nights at Allstate Arena on September 11 and 12. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that Garth will be adding additional dates in Chicago too, so why don’t we go ahead and announce those ahead of time so fans can prepare? Make things a little easier on everybody, eh G? Tickets for shows will go on sale this Friday, August 7, and as with all shows on this tour, Garth chose to make every single ticket that’s for sale – regardless of where it is in the arena – $155.25. When you break that down, it’s $140 for the ticket, and then $15.25 added on top of it in facility fees and service charges (plus taxes). In other words, whether it’s the front row or the nose bleeds, every single seat costs the same. It’s a solid strategy, given the insane demand for the tour so far. And Garth has made it known his thoughts on ticket scalpers, calling for the process to be outlawed: “I’ve never understood why scalping is legal. I don’t think I am making it too simple by saying if we just make scalping illegal, a bunch of the problems of today’s ticketing procedures would be gone… I’ve always wanted to go to the ‘powers that be’ and tell them I would be happy to do a tour without scalping if they want to see if we all miss it or not.” Well unfortunately we don’t live in that world yet, so if you want tickets to Garth’s new tour you’re going to either have to get lucky in the queue with 400,000 other people or pay the stupid prices from scalpers.The post Garth Brooks Announces Chicago As The Next Stop On His ‘Blame It All On My Roots’ Arena Tour first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
