Disturbing Perez Hilton Livestream Triggers Urgent Police Response at Miami Home
Content note: This story discusses an apparent mental-health crisis and self-harm. It does not include graphic footage or descriptions.
A deeply alarming livestream connected to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton triggered an urgent response at a Miami-Dade home Tuesday night.
By the end of the night, paramedics were seen taking someone from the property by ambulance. Hilton’s condition had not been publicly confirmed.
The first reports moved so quickly that false claims of Hilton’s death began circulating before authorities or his representatives had established what happened. Those claims remain unconfirmed and should not be repeated as fact.
NBC 6 South Florida reported from the Westchester neighborhood that Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies went to a home after receiving multiple calls about a man livestreaming acts of self-harm. Neighbors identified the man as Hilton, although the sheriff’s office had not publicly confirmed his identity during the station’s initial live report.
The station said deputies confirmed the man was alone inside. Family members were at the scene, and deputies backed away from the home while trying to de-escalate the crisis.
NBC 6 reported that deputies were using time, distance and crisis-intervention techniques to reduce the danger to everyone involved. The station’s footage showed a large law-enforcement presence in the neighborhood, and its reporter later saw an ambulance or fire-rescue vehicle moving toward the home.
The local report deliberately blurred the disturbing material from the livestream. We are not publishing or linking to that footage.
Video from outside the home later showed paramedics moving a person toward an ambulance:

A second update from the scene also reported that Hilton had been transported. No verified medical update was available at publication time:

TMZ obtained a statement from Golden Artists Entertainment co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, who said they were aware of the concerning material involving their client.
Hilton’s representatives said they had been unable to contact him despite repeated efforts. They said their primary concern was his health and well-being, along with the welfare of his family, and asked the public to respect his privacy rather than speculate.
TMZ also reported that the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls about the livestream, located the residence and spoke with family members at the scene. Those relatives confirmed that the man was alone inside the home.
The sheriff’s office said deputies “tactically disengaged” while continuing to monitor the situation. That decision was meant to give crisis responders time and space instead of escalating an encounter involving a person believed to be in immediate distress.
Hilton had spoken publicly about a serious hospitalization earlier this year. In a March 24 video, he described a religious experience following that medical crisis:

That older video provides background on what Hilton had recently shared publicly, but it does not establish the cause of Tuesday night’s crisis. Any attempt to diagnose him from social-media clips would be irresponsible.
Hilton, whose legal name is Mario Lavandeira, became one of the best-known celebrity bloggers of the early internet era. He is also the father of three children.
This is a developing story. The most important fact is that emergency help reached the scene, while the public waits for a confirmed update from Hilton’s family, representatives or medical authorities.
