Police students are warned and suspended
Published at 070
A couple of police students at Södertörn University are suspended due to suspicions of crimes that are not considered minor. Another three are warned after cheating on a group assignment.
When it was discovered that two students had been charged with crimes, they were deemed unsuitable to continue in the police program. Thus, they are closed pending the trials and possible verdicts.

According to Mitt i , three other students each receive a warning in parallel after submitting a written group project last summer that turned out to be suspected plagiarism.
Two of the three suspected cheaters claim that they did not know that the text was plagiarized as they did not write those paragraphs themselves. At the same time, the third says that he struggled to understand how academic texts should be written and that he has bad study habits.
As the group members have a common responsibility, everyone received a warning.
Multiple alarms
Last year, a police inspector and teacher Johan Siverland at Södertörn University's police program alerted that the police students are low-talented.
Siverland testified about students who depend on psychotropic drugs to cope with everyday life and some who have been caught cheating.
There are also more examples from before: Some have such limited knowledge of speaking and writing Swedish that they cannot complete a simple debriefing and a student who failed a weapons exercise had a breakdown and laid down on the floor and screamed.
2022 was also the year when the requirements to be admitted to police training were further lowered.
