“World’s Loneliest Sheep” Rescued From Cliff After 2 Yrs In Isolation.

A group of farmers have proven that‚ where there’s wool‚ there’s a way! Fiona the sheep spent two years living all by herself in a cave at the foot of a cliff in Scotland before being safely rescued and relocated. It’s unclear how she ended up there in the first place‚ but WBAL-TV says she likely fell down the slope as a lamb and was unable to escape. Her five rescuers used a large feed bag to transport her back up the cliff. Kristine Sosa/Facebook After living alone for so long‚ Fiona desperately needed a haircut. Not only did she look dirty and unkempt‚ but she was also carrying a lot of extra bulk. The farmers ended up shearing off 20 pounds of wool! Kristine Sosa/Facebook Fiona is now being cared for at Dalscone Farms‚ which is open to the public. Some protestors have voiced their disapproval of her new home‚ claiming that she should be in a sanctuary instead of on display. However‚ at least she won’t have to deal with onlookers right away. Staff promises that she’ll have plenty of time to get situated before the farm opens again in the spring. Kristine Sosa/Facebook A group of animal rights activists were in the process of attempting a rescue before the farmers stepped in. They had been slowly gaining Fiona’s trust over the course of several visits. Perhaps this is why she was reportedly so calm while being carried up the cliff!
