"The Atlanta Police Department is pleased to note that three-year old Harmony Hill was safely returned home on December 22nd, 2021, after an extensive investigation.
Summary of incident-
On November 8th, 2021, Atlanta Police was notified that Harmony had been taken by her non-custodial father, Nickien Collins, without consent. The Special Victims Unit was notified of the event and Investigators quickly obtained an Interference with Custody warrant for Mr. Collins. The case was then passed to Atlanta Police Department’s Fugitive Unit and assigned to Investigators Williams and D. Scott. Both investigators went to work, putting in countless hours gathering intel, conducting surveillance, and working with other law enforcement agencies to track the suspect and child. The intense investigative work paid off and ultimately led to information that Mr. Collins and Harmony were in Mississippi.
On December 22nd, 2021, with the assistance of our federal partners, Investigator Scott was able to coordinate the apprehension of Mr. Collins and have Harmony safely returned to her legal guardians.
Today, APD learned that the family of the child praised Fugitive Investigator Scott on a social media site and thanked her for helping to locate and return Harmony safely home. We appreciate the family taking the time to acknowledge the work of Investigator Scott and to share it publicly. Our officers and investigators pour their all into every case and are relentless in their effort to bring justice to victims and their families and to hold suspects accountable. This case is just another example of our commitment to public safety.
The Atlanta Police Department is proud of the work of all the investigators and officers who assisted in Harmony’s safe return and thankful for the assistance of our local, state, and federal partners for their help in this case. We want to give special thanks to Investigator’s Scott, Williams, and Stoddard and the entire Fugitive team for their work on this case and the safe return of this precious little girl.
