American taxpayers will be asked to bail out a bankrupt California in the near future if Newsom's plan goes into effect.

"California Gov. Gavin Newsom proposed universal health care for all low-income residents of his state, including illegal immigrants, during the unveiling of his 2022-23 state budget on Monday.
Newsom added that California would be the “first state in the country to achieve universal access to health coverage.”
This includes everything from home support services to behavioral health. But it also includes another highly controversial subject.
The California Blueprint plan would give non-registered citizens the right to abortions and of course, that does fall to the taxpayer.
Newsom also said the plan was designed to fight climate change, homelessness, and “persistent inequality.”
