Cities Skylines 2 missed expectations and must do better‚ Paradox says
Cities Skylines 2 has faced a difficult first six months. At launch‚ the city building sequel was criticized owing to a range of performance issues‚ particularly related to long loading times‚ stuttering‚ and texture detail. Since then‚ developer Colossal Order has worked tirelessly to deliver patches that not only remedy technical troubles‚ but also adjust various aspects of CS2’s gameplay and simulation. Compared to the original Cities Skylines‚ the Cities Skylines 2 Steam player count is low - as of this writing‚ CS1 has more than 8‚000 active players‚ while the sequel has 4‚700. With official modding tools expected in the near future‚ there is a way back for Cities Skylines 2. But Paradox‚ the publisher behind CS2‚ and developer of Stellaris and Crusader Kings‚ says the game “can and must do better.”
