According to a spokesman for the Russian government, Sweden will not be allowed to join NATO without reprisals.

It is Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who warns against Sweden and Finland during a press conference.

Possible military and political consequences are promised if the countries join NATO.

A NATO membership means that the Russian state can have fatal consequences and is not something the countries in question should base their security on as it would at the same time worsen the security situation for other countries - Russia.
