ECONOMY. Germany is scrapping its targets for the electric car market after consumers fled and the industry began to seriously crisis.

- In Germany, the demand for electric vehicles does not look good this year, says Jan Burgard, director of the vehicle consultant Beryll, to Bloomberg.

BMW's CEO Oliver Zipse seems to be right in retrospect, as he is one of the few who chose a cautious strategy when it comes to electric cars. Something he received extensive criticism for.

Zipse has warned of reduced demand for electric cars in Germany and advocated investments in gasoline cars, hybrids and hydrogen-powered cars.

Sales of electric cars are expected to fall 14 percent this year, among other things since the government withdrew subsidies for electric cars in December.
