Sabuni resigns following NATO statement

DOMESTIC. Liberal party leader Nyamko Sabuni announced her resignation at a press conference in the Riksdag today.

According to DN's sources, one of the reasons is the recent uproar over a film clip about the NATO issue.

- If there is a war, we have Skillingmark in Värmland, where we can manage with food and water. If it gets even worse, we will drive over to Norway, said Nyamko Sabuni in a conversation that was filmed and is on the Liberals' Youtube channel.

According to information to DN, the party's group leader Johan Pehrson will take over as party leader.

- I am who I am, with strengths and shortcomings. In June 2019, the party elected me all. But my whole being is not what is needed now, says Nyamko Sabuni.
