An 11-year-old concertgoer had to miss class to see Bruce Springsteen live‚ so Bruce gave the kid a signed note to excuse the absence. Then he proudly showed it off to the crowd before kneeling and penning his name. Before he handed it back to the excited fan‚ he blew her a kiss.That wasnt the first time the singer had given students permission to miss school to see or meet him. In 2016‚ he signed another note for a boy who played hooky to get his copy of Born to Run signed by the Boss. According to ABC‚ Bruce met the 10-year-old boy at a signing event in Philadelphia. He brought along a pre-typed letter reading‚ Dear Principal Brown‚ please excuse Michael Fenerty from being late or absent today. He came to the Free Library of Philadelphia to meet me and to get a copy of my book. Very Truly‚ Bruce Springsteen. Bruce‚ of course‚ added his signature at the bottom of the page. Michaels father‚ Mike‚ told the publication that Bruce lit up when he noticed his son in line. Before finding out about the note‚ he high-fived Michael‚ hugged him‚ and posed for a picture. The student then took advantage of the moment and handed him a pen and the letter before asking‚ Bruce would you sign my absence note?Sure‚ Ill sign it! Mike recalled him answering. But he said he had to read it because thats how he got in trouble with his first contract.
