Malmö nurse: "We chop and divide your organs until you die"
Published 2024-04-17
A nurse in healthcare in Malmö expresses himself in a way on social media that many people react to. Among other things, he writes "we chop and divide your organs until you die". Now he is defended by unit manager Charlotte Crafoord-Larsen.
- You don't know that he wrote it, so you can't say that he wrote it! she says to Samnytt.

It is during Sunday evening that press photographer Roger Sahlström reacts to a strongly worded comment he received on his Instagram page. The comment is written on a short video from February this year, where he tears down an anti-Israel sticker.

"One fine day you will find yourself surrounded by Arabs from all sides, alone and unprotected. Then you will be slaughtered while you are conscious, and you will see how we chop and dismember your organs until you die. No US, England or Bibi will protect your ass. The world is small, remember that!” reads the comment.

"Bibi" refers to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and is a nickname often used for him in the Middle East.

No threat to Sahlström
Roger Sahlström says that the comment is one of several under that post. It is not directly directed at him, but possibly at another user who was "tagged" in it: A gay man living in Malmö with Jewish connections.

Among other things, the tagged man has posted a picture of himself standing with a kippah in front of the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.

- I saw the post because I received a notification, Roger Sahlström explains to Samnytt.

- It is not a threat directly directed at me, but what he writes is still very serious.

Nurse in Malmö
The man who wrote the post about being slaughtered by Arabs is himself an Arab. His name is Ibrahim Abdelhay, is 36 years old, came to Sweden in January 2013 but, according to the Swedish Migration Agency, has been a Swedish citizen since 2018.

Pictures that Ibrahim Abdelhay himself posted on social media show that he works as a nurse in Region Skåne.

Salary administrators at Malmö University Hospital confirm to Samnytt that Abdelhay has worked at the hospital since 2014. He previously worked as a nurse in Jordan, but is now said to be a registered nurse in Sweden.

However, the salary administrators do not want to answer in which department the 36-year-old Arab works, or what his duties are.

Charlotte Crafoord-Larsen is unit manager for the Geriatric Emergency Department at Malmö University Hospital in Malmö. She is Ibrahim Abdelhay's immediate boss. She says she spoke to Abdelhay about the post.

- Absolutely. We work here according to our routines regarding that. We still don't know if he did it. You don't know that, she tells Samnytt.

But have you talked to him about it?

- Absolutely!

Does he deny writing it?

- I can't say anything, and I have no comments.

- You don't know that he wrote it, so you can't say that he wrote it!

"Will not work in healthcare"
Samnytt has searched for Ibrahim Abdelhay, but has not been able to get hold of him. After the incident, he has removed the post on Instagram and closed both his Instagram account and his Linkedin profile.

However, Roger Sahlström thinks it is inappropriate for people who have the type of views expressed by Ibrahim Abdelhay to work in healthcare.

- Such a person should not work in healthcare. Period, he says.

- Do you work in the public sector in some way or with a profession where you have to take care of other people. If you have these views, you don't belong in that profession, says Roger Sahlström.
