The woman who was found unconscious last week at a construction site on Södermalm in Stockholm has died from the injuries. Police suspect that the woman was raped in the area.

It was on Thursday morning, June 9, that construction workers found the woman seriously injured. According to Expressen , the police suspect that the woman, who is in her 35s, has been raped and also injured in the head.

There must have been traces that indicate that the rape took place at Tantolunden and then that she was left at the construction site. A preliminary investigation into sexual offenses and aggravated assault has been launched.

It also appears that another rape was reported a day later near a dog kennel at Medborgarplatsen. The police do not rule out that there may be a connection between the incidents.

The Police Authority is now appealing for tips from Södermalm. If you have made observations in the area around Maria Bangata from 4 pm on June 8 to the morning of June 9, you should contact the police.
