Is islam a psychiatric illness ?

A 37-year-old Egyptian man in Södertälje was detained on Friday on suspicion of murdering his two children. This is evident from documents from the Södertälje district court.

It is during the Tuesday evening that the police are alerted to a condominium in the northwestern outskirts of Södertälje. Two children, a nine-year-old boy and a seven-year-old girl, are found dead at the address.

The children's parents are arrested and detained on suspicion of murder, and the home is cordoned off for a technical examination.

Father is wanted in custody
The deceased children's mother, a 39-year-old woman from Ecuador who has been a Swedish citizen since 2020, is later released. According to the prosecutor, she is no longer suspected of crime.

However, the children's father, a 37-year-old Egyptian citizen who has been registered in Sweden since 2016, is being held for two murders. The man has a previous conviction and is not a Swedish citizen. According to his lawyer, the 37-year-old has admitted that there are probable grounds to arrest him for murder.

The spouses have been married to each other since the spring of 2013, and the deceased children are their joint. None of them have any other known family relationships in Sweden than the ones they have with each other.

According to documents from the court, the father suspected of murder is now being held at Helix - the forensic psychiatric ward in Huddinge.
