Female police officers leak information to sex partners in gangs

DOMESTIC. That the criminal gangs succeed so well in Sweden has long appeared to be a mystery. But now a survey shows that the number of female police officers in the country may be part of the explanation.

The mapping, which Dagens Nyheter somewhat unexpectedly published on Sunday, shows that the criminal gangs have set up systems to initiate sexual relations with police officers to such an extent that leaks have become a widespread problem.

A total of 514 reports of suspected leaks have been made since 2018, and according to DN's mapping, it is a "recurring method" of gang members to initiate sexual relations with police officers.

Martin Valfridsson, at the police department for special investigations, tells DN that leaks to criminals are a widespread problem.

- It has been going on for a long time in southern Europe. In a short time it has established itself here as well, he says.

Among other things, the agency has established the term "air pm" to describe how police officers prepare pointless reports about people their criminal boyfriends are interested in. The reports are then used to explain registry hits and make them look legitimate.

Fake 112 alarms have also been used by the gangs and their sex partners, according to DN.
