Larry Fine’s Granddaughter Recalls Growing Up With One Of ‘Three Stooges’

Larry Fine shot to fame as one of the “Three Stooges‚” which he became a part of in the mid-20s. His granddaughter‚ Kris Cutler recalled seeing Larry every Friday as a young girl‚ and being his “pal.” “He’d pick me up from school‚ we’d go shopping at Hughes Market‚ and he’d make me a hamburger. He made good hamburgers‚” she told Closer Weekly. Kris added that he was “kind‚ wonderful‚ and loving‚” and “just spoiled me.” “During the war‚ my mother told me he’d bring soldiers home‚ feed them‚ and give them a place to stay. He’d do anything for anybody‚” she added‚ lauding her famous grandfather’s kind nature. He’d get her anything she wanted. You know‚ if it’s 3 in the morning and she said‚ ‘I want Chinese food‚’ he’d go out and get her Chinese food‚” Kris recalled‚ with Kurt adding that they loved having “a big Thanksgiving dinner.” The ‘Three Stooges’ were like family to Larry Fine Speaking of family time‚ Larry had close-knit moments off-set with his fellow acts‚ Mo Howard and Shemp Howard. “We’d go to Mo’s house for barbecues. He’d come over and say: ‘You see these bags under my eyes&;#63; That’s where I keep my money.’” Kris recalled. “They had dinners together once a week. They really were a very close-knit family group‚” Kurt quipped. They’re both tugging at it when all of a sudden‚ the turkey flies out of the pan‚ slides through the swinging doors‚ and lands at the base of the dining table. Larry walks out‚ puts his hands in the air‚ and says‚ ‘Dinner’s ready&;#33;’” Kurt explained.
