FOREIGN. Turkey is now presenting alleged evidence that Sweden has sent armored shots to Kurds in Syria linked to the terrorist organization PKK.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will present evidence against Sweden at the NATO summit at the end of the month, writes the Turkish newspaper Sabah.
In connection with Turkey's military operations against the PKK-linked Kurds in the YPG in Syria and northern Iraq in 2018, "a large number" of Swedish-made Armored Shots m / 86 (with the export name AT4) were seized. The armor shots were photographed and the weapons' serial numbers were registered, Sabah writes.
In May, the Turkish government accused Sweden of sending the equivalent of SEK 3.2 billion as well as anti-tank weapons and drones to the Kurdish PKK / PYD in Syria.
However, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs then claimed that the information was incorrect.
"Sweden does not provide any financial assistance or military support to self-government in northeastern Syria, the Syrian Democratic Council, the Syrian Democratic Forces or the YPG / YPJ," the Foreign Ministry wrote in an email to Aftonbladet.
