"The incident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday at a store on the 800 block of Lovers Lane in East Akron, police say. The cashier tells police that a man became angry during a dispute over incorrect change and began throwing things at her, trying to grab her through a Plexiglass divider and threatening to kill her.
The cashier pulled out a handgun and a shot was fired, hitting another customer uninvolved in the dispute in the chest. The 48-year-old man was taken to Summa Health Akron City Hospital and was last listed in critical condition."
