Hothouse Flowers was formed in 1985 in Dublin, Ireland. The band initially gained attention for its vibrant mix of rock with traditional Irish music influences, soul, and gospel. The original lineup included Liam Ó Maonlaí (vocals and keyboards), Fiachna Ó Braonáin (guitar), and Peter O’Toole (bass), who started playing together under the name “The Incomparable Benzini Brothers” before becoming Hothouse Flowers.
