The Sugarcubes were formed in Reykjavik in 1986. The band consisted of Björk Guðmundsdóttir (vocals), Einar Örn Benediktsson (vocals, trumpet), Sigtryggur Baldursson (drums), Þór Eldon (guitar), Bragi Ólafsson (bass), Einar Melax (keyboards), and Margrét Örnólfsdóttir (keyboards, joined later).
