Abushi Shamse is sentenced today for attempted murder and aggravated rape against a nine-year-old girl in Skellefteå this summer. The district court determines the penalty for forensic psychiatric care with a special discharge examination.

This summer's act of violence, where a Swedish nine-year-old girl was subjected to a brutal rape and attempted murder by a refugee boy from Ethiopia several years older, has received a lot of attention and stirred up strong emotions throughout the country.

The brutal act, one in a series of immigration-related atrocities that have hit Sweden, was committed in a forest near Moröbacke school in Skellefteå.

Today comes the Skellefteå district court's verdict: Forensic psychiatric care with special discharge examination. The 15-year-old is also ordered to pay SEK 730,000 in damages to the vulnerable girl and her family. His parents are jointly and severally liable for SEK 9,660 of that amount.

Strong fear of death
The court states in its verdict that the nine-year-old girl "must have felt strong fear of death" during the protracted torture-like beating.

"In this case, the act has meant severe suffering for" the girl and "Abushi Shamse has exposed her to severe violence and she has been inflicted with extensive and very serious bodily injuries that risk significantly reducing her quality of life for the rest of her life," writes the court.

Furthermore, it is pointed out that the girl "has been alone in a desolate place in the forest, without the possibility of calling for help and physically inferior to Abushi Shamse in a defenseless position without the possibility of defending herself. Through the crime Abushi Shamse has shown particular recklessness and cruelty.”

13-year-old turned 15
The convicted Abushi Shamse was initially stated to be thirteen years old and thus not of legal age. He was placed in a nursing home after the crime.

The municipality of Skellefteå chose to keep secret how much tax money they paid for the care of the local monster, an illegal cover-up that a court finally put an end to.

After an investigation, it was found that Abushi was older than his family stated when it came to Sweden. The reason it went wrong was that Abushi's mother miscalculated her son's age.

Since Abushi Shamse's age was written up to fifteen years, and he was thus found to be of legal age, he could be prosecuted for the act of violence against the girl.
