All of Germany is debating the New Year's Eve riots in Berlin. Among the suspects: 45 Germans. However, according to information from JUNGE FREIHEIT, there are numerous people with dual nationality among them. The police are silent on the first names.
All of Germany is debating the New Year's Eve riots . All eyes are on the capital. This is where the riots were most massive. 41 police officers were injured, some seriously, rescue vehicles were attacked without restraint and even attacked with fire extinguishers. 145 people were arrested, but all are now at large.
But who are the suspects? What is officially known is that almost all of them were young men. 27 were younger than 18 years. Only five were older than 40. Among those arrested, only five were women.
It was also known that the 145 suspects were of 18 different nationalities. Including 27 Afghans, 21 Syrians and 45 Germans. But where do the others come from? How many dual nationals were there? And are people with two passports included in the statistics as Germans or foreigners?
Perpetrators with two passports are only listed as "Germans".
JUNGE FREIHEIT therefore asked the Berlin police and received astonishing answers. Among the 45 "German" suspects were eleven people with dual nationality. Among them Turks, Lebanese, Tunisians and Iraqis.

In the crime statistics of Berlin and all other federal states, suspects with dual nationality are generally listed as "Germans".
Other foreigners also got involved
A spokesman for the Berlin police also responded comprehensively to the other arrested foreigners. In addition to the Germans, Syrians and Afghans, Iraqis (9), Lebanese, Poles and Turks (five each) were among those arrested.

Overall, at least 111 of the 145 suspects have a foreign passport. And the migration background? Hasn't been caught by the police for years. The first names could provide a clue. The fact that a Muhammad is more closely related to migration than a Fritz cannot be dismissed out of hand, but this is disputed by the political left.
The police did not want to give their first names
Here the Berlin police are buttoned up on JF's request. This is “not automatically evaluable”. In addition, these are "ongoing investigations, about which we do not provide any detailed information".
However, the CDU in the Berlin House of Representatives now wants to know exactly these first names and submitted a corresponding catalog of questions to the Senate. The idea is not new. Several parliamentary groups of the AfD also asked for first names, for example in the case of knife crimes.
The fact that the riots were almost exclusively "Berlin boys" at work, as Berlin's governing mayor Franziska Giffey or Neukölln's integration officer, Güner Balci (both SPD), had claimed, probably belongs in the realm of fantasy.
