Red Dot Magnifiers: Why I Don't Like Them After using red dot magnifiers for awhile now, I can honestly say that if you know you need magnification on your rifle then get something else. Please. Alright before everyone gets bent out of shape, red dot magnifiers do work and are useable. However, I honestly feel that they are the worst way to get magnification on a rifle. Now, the versatility of a quick detach magnifier is nice to have if you are set on running a red dot as your primary sighting system. However, if your environment dictates that a magnified optic is required, then choosing a red dot magnifier combo is probably the worst option available to you. For many reasons.
