Echo & the Bunnymen hail from Liverpool, England. The same city in which another very famous band put that city on the map forever.  The group was formed in 1978.  The founding members included vocalist Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant, bassist Les Pattinson, and drummer Pete de Freitas, who replaced the original drum machine. The band quickly became a seminal part of the post-punk movement, known for their moody and melodic style of rock that incorporated psychedelic and new wave influences.
