The Ramones were formed in Forest Hills, Queens, New York City, in 1974. The band originally consisted of lead vocalist Joey Ramone (Jeffrey Hyman), guitarist Johnny Ramone (John Cummings), bassist Dee Dee Ramone (Douglas Colvin), and drummer Tommy Ramone (Thomas Erdelyi).
