Teenage quartet hanged taxi driver in Enköping (Sweden)

DOMESTIC. Four teenagers have been arrested for the murder of a taxi driver who was found dead in a forest area in the municipality of Enköping at the end of March, several media write.

The teenagers are between 15 and 16 years old and have been detained on suspicion of having murdered the man in Enköping.

The man was found dead in a forest area at the Hjälstaviken nature reserve after being missing for about a week.

According to witness statements, the man allegedly drove a taxi to a parking lot at Hjälstaviken. A snow-covered taxi was found in the parking lot a few hundred meters from the place where the body was later found.

Prosecutor Moa Blomqvist tells Aftonbladet that she does not want to go into what has happened with reference to the confidentiality of the preliminary investigation, but that the case stands out as it is unusual that so many and so young suspects have been detained.

In addition to the four, a fifth is suspected of aggravated protection of a criminal.

The murder must have taken place between March 24 and April 1, and according to the arrest warrant, the man must have been hanged.

The young people have no close connections to the taxi driver and deny the criminal suspicions.

Charges must be filed by April 27 at the latest.
