Swimsuit Colors

Swimsuit colors play defense too. While natural bodies of water have their own considerations for colors in lieu of water clarity, residential and facility pools can be navigated fairly confidently when it comes to swimsuit color selection for optimal visibility. Lighter blue hues and blue toned colors tend to blend more with the blue hues in water, especially as the water darkens or deepens. The foundation color of a pool definitely plays into this, but water tends to draw blue hues regardless if it's white fiberglass or blue vinyl. The opposite colors from blue on the color wheel tend to stand out the best, especially in deeper waters, and give us the best contrast. Keep in mind that distance from the pool to a nearby arm chair, and the splashing surface will also play into visibility. Especially with younger or weaker swimmers, having clearly visible swimsuits and flotation devices help yourself as well as other swimmers and nearby eyes keep your eyes on what counts. Choose swimsuit colors that defend instead of blend, and level up your water safety!
