CULTURE. Guitarist and rock legend Carlos Santana, 76, chose to make a small speech against transgenderism and LGBTQ during a concert in New Jersey on Friday.
- When God creates us, before we even leave the womb, we know who we are and what we are, said the rock icon and added:
- A woman is a woman and a man is a man.
Parts of the audience applauded, but there were also horrified cries from parts of the audience. He also criticized the publicity given to people's sexual preferences in recent years.
- Whatever you want to do in the wardrobe, it's up to you. I'm okay with that. I'm like this with my brother Dave Chappelle, Santana said, holding her hands up close together in the air.
Dave Chapelle is an African-American comedian who has recently made a series of controversial statements about, among other things, American Jews and homosexuals.
In the past, artists such as Van Morrison and Eric Clapton have also upset the establishment with similar statements.
Even Alice Cooper recently spoke out when it came to parents changing the gender of their children, something that is legal in the United States.
- I think it's wrong when you see a six-year-old who doesn't understand what's going on. He just wants to play and then we confuse him and say, "Well, you're a boy, but if you want to be a girl, you can be," Alice Cooper said.
