Municipality covered up daycare pedophile - honest mother who expoaed the cover up was suspended from teaching position

Recently, a preschool employee in Haninge municipality was reported to the police for sexual abuse of several children. The municipality covered up the events instead of informing the parents of the other children at the preschool. When one of the mothers became aware of the cover-up, she raised the alarm. It resulted in her being suspended from her teaching position.

It was in May this year that suspicions of pedophile abuse were first directed at an employed pre-school teacher in Haninge municipality. A few months later, suspicions were strengthened when additional children testified to having been sexually abused by the person in question.

Several police reports were made - and dismissed by prosecutors. However, the pre-school teacher is now in an active police investigation suspected of several crimes of sexual abuse against children. But no other parents of children with whom the criminal suspect worked were told anything.

Cover up and gagging
The preschool decided with the good memory of the municipal management, consisting of M, L and KD, to cover up what happened. Concerned parents of the children to whom the police report refers were gagged.

However, one of them took off the gag and told everything in a chat group. When a mother of one of the children at the preschool in question became aware of the cover-up, she decided to sound the alarm and confront the preschool management and the municipal management. She wouldn't have done that.

- I wanted an answer to how you could do this, says the mother in a comment to SVT .

She justifies her outrage at the cover-up by saying she felt "deprived of the right to act as a mother should act, deprived of the right to talk to my child and see signals".

- So I pound my fist on the table several times and I demand answers. “Tell me; has my child been sexually abused?” she says.

Suspended from teaching position
But instead of an explanation and apology for not informing the parents of the children with whom the suspected pedophile crime preschool teacher worked, the mother was subjected to reprisals.

The preschool's management calls the police, who remove the mother from the premises. Shortly after the confrontation, she finds out that the municipal management has suspended her from her position as a teacher in the municipality. This in connection with her being called to a meeting with the school management.

She finds the argument for the suspension remarkable. It is "for the safety and security of all children", she is told. To SVT, the mother/teacher says that it "felt incredibly offensive and unfair" to be singled out as a danger to the children while holding a police-reported suspected pedophile on your back.

The chairman of the municipal board washes his hands
The shutdown has received media attention and for Haninge's municipal management, the whole thing is an embarrassing situation to deal with. The chairman of the municipal board, Sven Gustafsson (M), defends in a comment to state TV that they put the lid on instead of going out to all parents with what they knew.

This is because "a very threatening atmosphere has arisen which no one feels good about", when the parents who were brought behind the scenes found out how they were treated. Gustafsson also does not want any intention that the upset mother was suspended from her teaching position with the motivation given.

- I don't get involved in such personnel decisions. That is for the municipality and the HR department to decide.

After criticism of both the cover-up and the suspension of the mother/teacher, she has now been allowed to return to work. Her child is not claimed to be one of those at the preschool that the suspected pedophile is believed to have committed abuse against.

The pre-school teacher denies all accusations so far. The person has been suspended from work since the criminal investigation began and has now resigned at his own request.
