On the night of June 23, 1976, in the urban neighborhood of Aricanduva, São Paulo, Brazil, 18-year-old Paulo Coutinho experienced an extraordinary event that would forever alter his life. Around 11:45 PM, after leaving a night school class, Paulo encountered a phenomenon that defies conventional explanation—a sighting and subsequent abduction by entities described as “very short” beings with unusual physical characteristics. The incident unfolded beneath the shadowy skies of the city, where Paulo first observed a luminous object in motion. He was later revived at a nearby hospital. The police officer who carried him to the ambulance reported feeling an unusual irritation on his body, especially his arms. After attempting to rise to his knees, he felt paralyzed again and received a telepathic message assuring him he would not be harmed. The beings turned and moved toward a wall, which vanished to reveal a larger room containing six additional beings. This second room was stark, with no visible light source or furniture. Paulo sat on the floor facing a sidewall, where moving images of his girlfriend, school friends, and parents appeared, seemingly reflecting their real-time actions. He demanded to know what they wanted. Telepathically, they explained they sought to understand how life arose in the universe. When Paulo asked about the three “different” beings, he learned they were females. Their society, he was told, had no sexual reproduction; children were produced in laboratories for specific societal roles.
