Late last night, Zach Bryan took to Instagram to share an unreleased song seemingly titled "They Ain't You," which he played with a simple acoustic guitar, along with using some of the lyrics as a caption. Of course, he was the subject of many headlines yesterday, after his ex-girlfriend, Barstool Sports personality Brianna LaPaglia (Brianna Chickenfry as she's known online), attended the Golden Globes. It was an event that sparked a massive fight when they were still together, so she obviously got a ton of questions about the very public breakup while on the red carpet. In fact, one reporter asked Brianna what she's looking for in her next partner, and she didn't hold back, saying three of the main qualities she wants are: "Height, hair, kindness." And since then, there’s been quite a bit of hate for Zach online from those who support Brianna. Zach has stayed radio silent about the entire situation, other than the announcement on his Instagram stories saying that they'd broken up, and I think could read into that several different ways, but like most of you, I'm kind of tired of hearing about all the drama. From a music standpoint, though, Zach put out a new album in 2024 called The Great American Bar Scene, and released a couple singles around the time of their breakup, including "This World's a Giant" and "High Road." Anything new he releases for the foreseeable future will inevitably be interpreted as a "breakup song," and fans online have been saying they're excited for a "breakup album," though it's unclear if this one is about Brianna or not. I would love to tell you that the timing is "suspicious," but it's pretty normal for him to tease stuff like this with short acoustic videos, so your guess is as good as mine.
