Prepping will help us get through this tariff driven trade war between the USA, China, Canada and Mexico. It will get expensive before it starts working. By prepping up supplies before things like a trade war begin, you are in a better position to hold off on buying things unnecessarily. If you can avoid paying the premiums driven by these newly implemented tariffs then do so. If you need something, then you need it.
