Kamala Harris Addresses Speculation That She’s Planning To Run For California Governor

Since Kamala Harris’ resounding defeat on Election Day, there have been rumors swirling about what political ambitions she might pursue in the future. Among the most common possibilities for the former senator and ex-vice president involves a gubernatorial bid in her home state of California. A reporter prompted her for a response, but the notoriously babbling Democrat was suspiciously coy. Californians, beware! Kamala didn’t say no when asked if she would run for governor. pic.twitter.com/ugIATAFk56 — Magnetic Norse (@MagneticNorse) February 8, 2025 As The Hill reported: “I have been home for two weeks and three days. My plans are to be in touch with my community, to be in touch with the leaders and figure out what I can do to support them,” she told reporters Friday after touring areas impacted by the Palisades wildfire. “I am here and would be here regardless of the office I hold, because it is the right thing to do, which is to show up in your community and thank the folks who are on the ground,” she added. It’s probably for the best that she didn’t make an announcement, considering how many Americans seem to think she should retreat back into private life following her involvement in the Biden administration — including a disastrous presidential campaign. Gavin Newsom is certainly having approval-rating problems of his own, it remains to be seen whether the perennially unpopular Harris is too politically toxic even for far-left Golden State voters. She kept growing more unpopular even after the election, as the Economic Times reported late last year: The popularity of US Vice President Kamala Harris has eventually taken a significant hit, revealed a recent Economist/YouGov poll which was conducted in the month of December, reported The Sacramento Bee. According to The Sacramento Bee, her favorability rating has eventually dropped to 43% while 52% are viewing her pretty unfavorably which is a sharp decline from a peak of 49% in the month of August during the Democratic National Convention. Whereas, during recent days, in comparison, US President Joe Biden holds a lower favorability at 38% while US President- elect Donald Trump enjoys a favorable rating of 49%. Here’s some additional coverage of the criticism surrounding Harris’ possible campaign:
