They Scoop Up Seven Kittens from Yard and Watch Them Transform Overnight Indoors
They scooped up seven kittens from a yard and watched them transform overnight indoors.
EllenRichterEarlier this week, Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions was alerted to seven kittens found in a backyard. Despite days of searching, their mom was nowhere in sight. With the help of volunteers, all the kittens were brought to safety. They received treatment for their colds, and after a vet visit, they settled into their foster home, ready for a new beginning.Even though they were tired and scruffy, they were content, nestled in warm blankets rather than huddling outside.
They were found in a backyard without a momEllenRichterAfter some reassurance from their foster mom, Ellen Richter, one of the tabbies ventured out of the carrier, soon followed by the others. They were about five to six weeks old, with three Siamese mixes and four tabbies. As soon as they caught the scent of food, they swarmed the feeding station.
EllenRichterThe kittens were ravenous, scarfing down nearly ten cans of food that first night. Some even stepped into the dishes, eating as if they didn't know when they would get their next meal. After filling their bellies to the brim, they returned to their carrier one by one, even though there were plenty of beds and blankets around.
EllenRichterThe next morning, they woke up with renewed energy and fresh appetites. With a good night's sleep and a hearty meal, their coats appeared healthier, and their energy levels improved. The braver, more adventurous kittens explored other parts of the room and settled into a large bed filled with fluffy blankets.
EllenRichterSweet Tart, the smallest of the bunch, turned into a curious bundle of joy. He watched his siblings play with toys while taking comfort in his soft blanket. But the moment Ellen brought food, all seven kittens dashed over, meowing together like a choir."They're eating on their own and learning how a litter box works," Ellen shared.
Sweet TartEllenRichterAfter just one day in foster care, all the kittens traded their carrier for comfy beds, curling up together in a cozy pile. Razzle-Dazzle, the most adventurous one, kept watch as her siblings drifted off to sleep."Razzle is the long-haired tabby, and she's got a huge personality."

BonBon, one of the Siamese, is especially fond of it, rolling and wrestling with the blankets until he's completely cocooned in them.Eventually, his siblings join in the fun, playing until they nod off mid-play.
BonBon likes to wrestle with blanketsEllenRichterThe kittens have gained weight and strength thanks to their insatiable appetites.Tim Tam (tabby with brown paws) is the biggest of the litter, whereas Sweet Tart remains the smallest but makes up for it with personality. After romping around the room, they always return to the largest bed, cuddle up, and sleep.
EllenRichterThe kittens were introduced to new toys, and the scratcher was an instant hit. Razzle zeroed in on the butterfly, pouncing on it with all her might. She teamed up with Sweet Tart, trying to hunt it down.Whenever Ellen enters the room, the kittens rush around her feet like tiny ducklings, some even trying to hitch a ride on her slippers.
EllenRichterThanks to many kind individuals, these seven kittens have left their outdoor lives behind and are thriving, each with a unique and adorable personality.
