Beyoncé Fans Outraged They Paid A Premium To Buy Presale Tickets That Are Now On Sale For Half The Price: “What A Scam”

The “Beyhive” is turning on Beyoncé. Beyoncé released her alleged country album Cowboy Carter (that she clarified “wasn’t a country album”) back in March of 2024. It was certainly a cultural moment, and successful out of the gate, but it really lacked the staying power on the Billboard charts that you would expect from someone as big as Beyoncé . And then, after it failed to be nominated at many of last year’s country music award shows, it seemed like the “country era” of Queen Bey was all but over with. However, Beyoncé then scored plenty of Grammy nominations for the project, totaling 11 different nominations including “Best Country Album” and “Album of the Year.” The 43-year-old artist ended up taking home both of those awards and one other, bringing Beyoncé’s total Grammy Awards won up to 35 – the most of any artist in history. Not long after her big night at the Grammys, Beyoncé officially announced her Cowboy Carter Tour. And many thought the tour would sell out instantly, much like her 2023 Renaissance Tour did. However, Beyonce has failed to sell out any of her stadium shows in the weeks since tickets went on sale, and for someone as famous and popular as the “Queen Bey,” that’s surprising. It was initially believed that Beyoncé was only struggling to sell Cowboy Carter tickets in the international market. However, recent rumblings on social media have shown that ticket sales don’t appear to be going all that well domestically either. Why are the tickets not selling like they used to for Beyoncé? Well, there were rumors that spread across the internet that initially placed the blame on Ticketmaster’s website crashing due to the influx of demand for tickets. Ticketmaster denied those rumors, and even released a statement clarifying that there was no website crash as a result of Beyoncé’s tickets going on sale. Some even believe that the pop-star’s PR team floated those rumors out there themselves. Another factor playing in the low ticket sales was the initial high ticket prices. Fans that were able to get through the maze that can be buying tickets online were stunned when they got to the end of the process and saw that their Cowboy Carter Tour tickets were going to cost them $800 to $900 a piece. Even standing tickets reportedly skyrocketed to almost $300 when the tour first started selling tickets. And shockingly, those tickets prices have all of the sudden dropped to very reasonable levels, which has those that call themselves a part of the “Beyhive” buzzing (in a bad way). One Beyoncé fan who had bought tickets early on took to TikTok to express her frustration with ticket prices now being lowered, and there seeming to be plenty of tickets available to multiple shows when fans were led to believe that most of the concerts were sold out. The fan presented all of her research, which shows drastically cheaper tickets and a multitude of yet-to-be-purchased seats at many of Beyoncé’s tour dates. Another thing the Beyoncé fan also did was asked for those that had already bought tickets as well to share in the comments how much they originally paid. And the disparity between what they paid and what they could get similar tickets for now is sickening: “Ours were $1,300 and now it’s $550.” “Paid $1500 a ticket for VIP113 and now they’re selling for $634. What a scam.” “Mine were like $700 and I got whatever was available in the 100s. Now there are better seats for cheaper.” “Paid $1,200 per ticket, went down to $500-$600.” “Paid $1,500 each The seat right behind mine is now $455. For the second show, I paid $980 and the seat right next to mine is $336. It’s gross!” “Mine are $500 less.” “My $860 (with fees) tickets for Chicago are now worth $575 . So many tickets have suddenly appeared in that section that didn’t exist weeks ago.” “I bought 1 ticket for the 5/4 show during the Beyhive presale – Section 245 for $922 with fees. At that time, 100s section was $1200+. Now a seat in section 245 is $330.60.” Now, fans are left rushing to see if they can exchange their seats for better ones that are still available. That’s working out for some, but others are left with extreme buyer’s remorse, and feel as though they’ve been mislead through the pre-sale process. The good news is that President Trump is hopefully going to get this ticket stuff fixed (or at least moving in a better direction) sooner rather than later. The post Beyoncé Fans Outraged They Paid A Premium To Buy Presale Tickets That Are Now On Sale For Half The Price: “What A Scam” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
