Curtis is also producing the venture under Comet Pictures. The movie is based on the short film Return to Sender, which was written and directed by Russell Goldman. Goldman also penned Sender’s feature-length script and will helm the production in his movie directorial debut. Here’s the official synopsis, per Deadline: Sender follows a woman (Lower) who experiences an e-commerce package delivery scam that becomes so personal and disturbing that she becomes hellbent on discovering the identity of her anonymous sender. “I am so proud to be a part of Russell’s first movie, the first of many,” Jamie Lee Curtis said in a statement to Deadline. “The little seed that Comet Pictures planted has now grown into a feature filled with talented artists surrounding a new and exciting filmmaker.” Goldman previously worked with Curtis on her graphic novel Mother Nature. Lower, of course, plays Helly/Helena on Apple TV+’s Severance, while Dastmalchian will soon appear in Murderbot, the television series based on Martha Wells’ books. Baryshnikov was a series regular on Dickinson and also recently starred in the film, Idiotka. Sender is currently in production, though there’s no news yet on when it will make its way to a screen near you.
